The championship of Spain of haleterophilia lands in Saragossa This weekend, in which 169 male and female athletes will participate. This competition highlights the presence of Marcos Ruiz and Marta García, the first of them, Olympic. In addition, the Iberceja City of Zaragoza of Hostterophilia is recovered, which aspires to become the annual reference event for Aragonese athletes.
This championship, which will bring together the best lifters in the country, will also be a key test for taking brands for international competitions, which reinforces its strategic character within the national sports scene.
During the two days of the competition, 76 male athletes will participate, distributed in eight categories, and 93 women who will compete in seven categories, according to their body weight. The official competition will begin with the technical meeting and opening gala on Friday, day 13 from 8:00 p.m.
The event has been presented today at the Zaragoza City Council by the Councilor for Sports, Félix Brocate; the head of sponsorships of Ibercaja, María Frago; the president of the Spanish Federation of Search, Constantino Iglesias; the president of the Aragonese Federation of Search, José Daniel Tejero, and two of the elite athletes who will compete in the championship: Marcos Ruiz, Olympic athlete and current runner -up in Europe; and Marta García, also runner -up in Europe 2025.
The event will host two official competitions: the Championship of Absolute Male and Female, and the Absolute Spain Championship by Federations. On Friday, June 13, the technical meeting and the opening gala will take place, starting at 8:00 p.m., while sports tests will be held on June 14 and 15, in the covered pavilion of the Helios Swimming Center.
Seyterophilia, one of the first Olympic sports
The competition, based in Zaragoza this weekend, brings together dozens of halephilia professionals, one of the oldest sports of the Olympic Games, as the president of the RFEH and the councilor have stressed.
Also, Tejero, president of the RFAH, says that it is the event “with greater representation of the year” and stands out on Saturday at 6:00 p.m., at which time athletes with better brands “will be able to lift up to 200 kilos.” This same day he wanted to highlight Marcos Ruiz, an Olympic lifter, as he will participate in both athlete and coach.
The other protagonist Marta García, has pointed out the desire she has to participate and hopes that “everything is prepared with the same illusion that is reflected in Zaragoza.”
