Nine out of ten of the visitors of which were achieved their previous goals

The 17th edition of the International Fair for Animal Production (appear), held during the first months of this year 2025, closed its doors at fair Saragossa with a highly satisfactory balance for both exhibitors and professionals in the sector. With 60,757 visitors, 11% more than in the previous edition, and more than 1,200 exhibiting brands from 24 countries, the contest continues to consolidate, edition to edition, as one of the great international appointments of the livestock field.

According to data shared by the Zaragoza Fair after the last meeting of the Organizing Committee, held on the Logistics Platform of Bonàrea (Epoch), the fair has had an important technical and specialized profile. Up to 91% of visitors claimed to have achieved the marked objectives and 64% plans to close some commercial operation after contacts during the event. As for exhibiting companies, 93% have claimed to have also fulfilled their expectations.

An international dimension fair

With more than 3,600 international visitors from 54 countries in Europe, America, Africa and Asia, 2025 has demonstrated its growing external projection. The quality of the professional visitor, the business approach and the technical component of the activities have been, according to the organization, pillars of the success of this edition. The Zaragozano fairgrounds housed an exhibition surface of 64,591 square meters, reinforcing its capacity as a reference space for innovation in the agribusiness sector.

Parallel activities

In addition to the commercial activity, they are able to offer this 2025 an extensive program with 53 technical days, sector meetings and live demonstrations. To this were added 34 activities promoted by the Royal Spanish Federation of Select Livestock Associations (RFEAGAS), within the action “All in Figure”, which contributed to giving visibility to the national livestock product.

One of the strategic axes has been the impulse to the generational relief. The initiative is connected by talent and action cattle ranchers – organized next to the Vall Companys group – have focused on attracting young people to the livestock sector and make visible the labor challenges facing the new generation linked to the field. In this space, creators of rural content have discussed depopulation, incorporation into the market and paper of talent.

A showcase

Among the great novelties of the edition is the celebration, for the first time, of the three main livestock markets in the country: Mercolleida, Binéfar and Ebro. This milestone has contributed to reinforce the link between the contest and the real economic pulse of the livestock market.

He has also highlighted the reception of the dairy forum, promoted together with the specialized publication Vaca Pinta. Inaugurated by the Minister of Rural Affairs of Galicia, María José Gómez, the space brought together experts, producers and distributors to address milking challenges from sustainability, digitalization or genetics.
