
Heavy rains force almost 20 people in Azuara and Letux
Long night and full of uncertainty for the residents of the Zaragoza localities of Azuara, Letux, Herrera de los Navarros, Villar de los Navarros and Almonacid de la Cuba, after the heavy rains produced on Friday night.
According to the head of the DPZ Firefighters Intervention, Florencio Pascual, “at around 10.30 pm we began to receive notices from people who were suffering from flooding, the flood of a ravine and the cameras river. The most affected populations were Azuara and Lettux (Zaragoza)”. “Up to these points, fourteen troops with diverse material were displaced, with which five bailouts were made,” said Pascual.
In the town of Azuara, the Firefighters of the DPZ took four toilets with a pneumatic raft that were trapped in the health center: two on the roof, one on the first floor and another on the ground floor. The latter had to be taken out of a window breaking a glass in a stay in which the water was fenced to reach the roof.
Also in Azuara they also rescued two families from their homes flooded, one of four people with two minors and another of five people also with two less, one of them a baby.
For their part, in Letux the firefighters of the Diputación de Zaragoza rescued a total of six people from three different homes, all affected by floods. According to witnesses in the area, some of the people have had to be realized from their homes to a hotel or home houses that have not been affected.
In addition, the DPZ Firefighters have been in Herrera de los Navarros, Villar de los Navarros and Almonacid de la Cuba by checking vehicles that had been trapped by floods and clearing the obstacle roads.
