
Labor Calendar 2026 In Aragon: We will have more bridges than in 2025 and 12 holidays confirmed
Every year, the labor calendar in Spain It contemplates a maximum of fourteen holidays of a paid and non -recoverable nature, set by the Workers’ Statute. Of these, eight are nationally, four can be established by the autonomous communities and two more correspond to local entities, which propose them through their respective municipalities. In addition, communities have the power to transfer to Monday those national holidays that coincide with Sunday.
In the case of Aragon, the regional government, on July 9, approved the decree that sets the holidays by 2026, published in El Boa on July 16. A total of twelve common holidays have been defined throughout the Aragonese territory, which combine national and regional celebrations, and that will be completed with the two local holidays that each municipality proposes before October 1, 2025.

By 2026, the Aragonese can already consult the twelve common holidays that will be applied throughout the territory of the Autonomous Community. These include emblematic dates such as Aragon Day (San Jorge, April 23) or national festivities such as Christmas, Labor Day or Immaculate Conception. These days will be inharily, paid and not recoverable, so they are considered mandatory rest days.
The final list includes holidays that fall on Thursday, Friday or even Saturday, such as August 15 (Asunción de la Virgen). The coincidence of some parties on Sunday is also contemplated, such as November 1 (all saints) and December 6 (Spanish Constitution Day). In both cases, and in accordance with current legislation, the Aragon government has decided to transfer those holidays to the following Monday to guarantee its enjoyment.

These dates affect all workers in the Autonomous Community of Aragon and must be respected by companies in their respective labor calendars. To these twelve days two more will be added for each municipality, thus completing the total of fourteen annual holidays established by the labor regulations.

As established by the Autonomous Decree, each City Council can propose up to two local holidays to complete the labor calendar of its municipality. These dates can coincide with traditional patron saint parties or celebrations for each locality. To do this, they must send a plenary agreement or, failing that, of the Government Commission with express delegation before October 1, 2025.
Once the proposals are received, the provincial work subdirections will be sent to the General Directorate of Labor, which will be responsible for ordering its publication in the Official Gazette of Aragon. Until this specific resolution is published, you cannot know what the local non -working days will be in Saragossa, Huesca, Teruel or other municipalities. Therefore, the 2026 holiday calendar in Aragon is still incomplete.
