Jul 24, 2025

The Godina Festival, held last Saturday, July 5, marked a new milestone in the history of this festival congregating more than 1,400 attendees in La Almunia. In its fourth edition, this free and free access event has positioned itself as a cultural reference in the Valdejalón region, which this year has managed to attract a greater youth audience maintaining the influx of older people.

The artist poster that included Fresquito and Mango, Model, Lorena Margalló or Almendra Garrapiñá has been well received by the spectators, who take out a very positive assessment of the event. The Godina’s proposal is that of a differentiating festival that combines rural charm, a careful musical selection and a strong commitment to the local economy.

The recent edition of the Festival presented a poster of more than a dozen artists, who offered a wide variety of musical styles for more than 12 hours during the day and night. The Cabañas Park is the main stage of the annual event and this day had services such as a barbecue area, bar, foodtruck and free transportation, improving the experience of the attendees, who could also access with their own products and baskets of Picnic.

A festival with impact, reception and commitment

The City Council of La Almunia, organizer of the event, confirms the resounding success of this edition, highlighting the fulfillment of one of its main objectives: attracting a younger audience and promoting its connection with the Cabañas Park. The Festival transformed the Cabañas Park into a vibrant space with concerts distributed in three strategically located scenarios: El Pinar next to the Merenderos, the historic Hermitage of Cabañas and the main stage in the Great Esplanade.

The satisfaction of the public was notable, with a high assessment of key aspects such as the decoration of the park, the lighting, the availability of local services and the quality of the musical programming. The origin of the attendees was diverse, including a significant part of the town and the province, and highlighting the influx of visitors from autonomous communities such as Navarra, Huesca, Teruel, Catalonia, Soria and even Murcia.

The City Council during the fourth edition of the Festival has maintained the firm commitment to the local business and commercial fabric, and with the environment. The celebration in the Cabañas enclave makes even more emphasis if possible in the care of the environment and in the cleaning of natural spaces. Thanks to the municipal services, at a few hours the enclosure was clean and enabled again to all audiences, as if no event had been held on this site.

Marisa Martínez, Councilor for Culture of the Consistory, has indicated the importance of supporting these events and local shops, which have again allowed developing the festival without incident. “Almunia has very professional companies, in this case companies and businesses that know and know very well the cultural landscape of the community, and that give everything to polish all the details.” Martínez in that sense has wanted to express his “deep thanks to all the people involved in which the fourth edition of the Godina has been a resounding success,” he explains.

Culture, History and Music: An integral experience

The day began with a guided tour of the hermitage of Cabañas, a national monument of the twelfth century that fuses Mudejar, Romanesque and Gothic styles, facilitated by the Center for Almunian Studies. At the same time, the ‘whispers’ in the Cabañas fridge offered an immersive poetic experience in an underground environment of great historical value. The musical program began with Yoniyo and its rock, followed by electric state, a local group with pop-rock versions. Almendra Garrapiñá encouraged the afternoon with his flamenco mergers and intimacy came with Lorena Margalló and Rubén Jiménez, who offered an emotional acoustic concert in the hermitage of Cabañas, performing themes of Chavela Vargas.

The sunset brought Blues Band tozolón, presenting his new album. Subsequently, Lava flower, with millions of reproductions under his belt, captivated with his Latin rhythm and inspiring messages, highlighting the Almunia as his first stop confirmed on his tour of Spain. The night continued with cool and mango, which with their electro-pop began to dance to the crowd. Closing the evening, model maintained energy with its indie-pop even acting to Capela, which won the unanimous applause of the public. The party culminated with the DJs Pub Friends (Beuxi, David Montesinos and Marín) until late at dawn, adding more than 12 hours of uninterrupted music.

Anabel Langarita, Culture Technician of the City Council, analyzes the poster as one of the most successful and powerful for the public of all editions. “We have left the bar very high for the following editions, in which we will start working in the coming months. The important thing is that this essence of root music and healing of artists will not be lost,” he explains. Langarita has affirmed that production “are many hours of work and even listening to artists, in addition to looking for the best of the best with a balance of quality and taste of attendees.”

Complete services for an unforgettable day

The Cabañas Park offered throughout the festival a complete range of services for the comfort of the attendees. From the first hour, the Friends Pub bar bar and the Food-Truck of El Calamochino (both services in charge of local companies for the first time in the history of the festival) were operational, guaranteeing drinking and food options in person.

A free taxes transport service in taxi, which connected the Plaza de la Paz with the entrance of the park, was uninterruptedly available for almost the entire day, facilitating the access and exit of the attendees safely. Despite moments of high demand, this service was a great success with respect to previous editions. Additionally, the park had a wide parking space enabled with more than 70 seats for vehicles, and clear signaling to facilitate the arrival of those who chose their own transport.
