More than 40,000 Aragonese students quote for their unpaid social security practices
Since January 1, 2024, students who carry out unpaid training practices are included in the system of the Social security. Until that time, only the students who received some kind of financial compensation for their practical training quoted and, with the extension, the protection of all people in practices was equated, they were paid or not.
Since the implementation of said legislative change, 40,302 Aragonese young people have been discharged and, therefore, have quoted at least one day on Social Security. By provinces, Saragossa leads the ranking with 31,600 students and follow Huesca with 5,188 and Teruel with 3,678.
The data has been published this Wednesday and the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations, Elma Saiz, wanted to highlight that “the measures that have been approved protect students in a more effective way by recognizing their rights since they begin their contribution careers with training practices.”
Students included in the system
Students who have become part of Social Security are those university students who carry out practices to obtain an official degree (degree, master or doctorate) or for a university degree.
Students in professional training practices have also been discharged, when they do not show in an intensive professional training, non -labor and higher artistic teachings, professional artistic studies or sports training of the educational system.
1.5 million Spanish students have been discharged
