He Forest fire declared Monday in the Oscense of Foradada del Toscar (Huesca), in the Cotiella massif area, it is still active on Tuesday to more than 2,100 meters of altitude. However, its evolution during the night has been favorable and the propagation has remained scarce, as reported by the operation of prevention and extinction of forest fires of Aragon (Infoar) of the Government of Aragon.

Since the early morning, the deployment of aerial and land media has intensified. In total, two light helicopters work in the area, an average helicopter with its Helitransported brigade, the coordination and control helicopter of infoar and three terrestrial brigades. To this operation has been added media of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (Miteco), with an amphibious seal plane, two light noáin helicopters, an average helicopter of Plasencia del Monte and the Daroca BRIF, with two middle helicopters.

Las llamas han calcinado 18 hectáreas de erizón y pino, según medios de Infoar.
The flames have calcined 18 hectares of brush and pine, according to means of infoar.

A complicated access zone and high mountain

The flames are located at an altitude of 2,150 meters, within an abrupt area of the Cotiella massif, in the Sobrarbe region, between the valleys of the ESERA and El Cinca. This considerably hinders the work by land and for the moment the affected surface is estimated at about 18 hectares of brush and pine, according to the latest estimates made at the end of Monday.

During the afternoon of yesterday, the fire presented a high risk for land media, due to the possibility of rock detachments and falling vegetation in flames, so it was chosen to withdraw resources during the night and monitor the evolution of fire, waiting to resume work with diurnal light.

This Tuesday, both infoar and the miteco maintain constant surveillance and progressive reinforcement of means to try to stabilize a fire that, for the moment, remains active although content, without direct threat to inhabited nuclei.
