STOP Noise presents allegations to a new map of the noise that they see “incomplete and biased”

Jul 24, 2025

The last strategic map of noise (Mer) of Saragossa He has arrived with more than a decade of delay but is ready. This map aims to expose the most exposed city areas to noise derived from traffic or industrial activity. Once analyzed, the information will serve to prepare an action plan against noise from the mobility and environmental area of the City hall.

Specifically, the new MER has taken into account four acoustic emitters: road traffic, rail, a part of industrial activity and airport. From Stop noise Zaragoza They consider that the document presented contains “important deficiencies.” With the sources taken into account, “the areas in which the breach of acoustic quality objectives are not identified,” they denounce.

According to the Association, the Law on the Protection of Indian pollution of Aragon collects up to eleven acoustic emitters (vehicles, cars, railroads, aircraft, road infrastructure, rail, airport, airports, machinery, works, construction, industry, commercial, services, sports-recreational activities and any type of leisure including the night) that should be included.

If the map is validated as it is, it will “hide,” according to Stop noise, the true dimension of the problem, “throwing incomplete results and that will not help.”

The entity trusts a correction of the map before the end of the year by putting special emphasis on the inclusion of nightlife and located the head of the bouquet, Tatiana Gaudes, to create an action plan “that really protects the neighbors of Zaragoza with the participation of neighborhood and collective associations.”

Main claims

Although road traffic has been taken into account, Stop Noise regrets the absence on the map of construction or semiterminated roads such as Navarra Avenue, Anselmo Clavé’s roundabout, Avenida de Cataluña or Romareda, with complaints from neighbors of the historic center, Valdespartera, University or Central District.

It also shaves that attention is not paid to the closeness of the Z-40 to the homes in the Movera neighborhood or to areas of “special sensitivity” such as the galachos.
