The deadline to submit the requests of the program aimed at young people between 18 and 30 years will open in the coming days, once they are published in the Bulletin of the Province of Saragossa. This has been announced by the mayor of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca, during a visit to the construction works of a building of 112 affordable rental housing on Vicente Cazcarra street, in the Las Fuentes neighborhood. It is a public-private collaboration project that is carried out with the construction company Bial and that counts European funds.
The objective of the aid is to deal with the “emancipation problems that exist among young people and that can have access to housing,” said Natalia Chueca. That is why in five years – expresses – the call has gone from 350,000 euros in 2020 to 1.6 million euros this year. It has also mentioned the importance of affordable housing to stop “the lack of housing, one of the greatest problems in all Spain”

The facade that gives to the walk of Vicente Cazcarra will have seven lowest plants
Currently, in Zaragoza there are 2,290 public homes building or in process, a figure that in 2027 will reach 2,500, and that almost arrives at all neighborhoods such as Actur, Valdespartera, Miralbueno, Rosales del Canal, Picarral, La Jota, El Rabal, Las Fuentes, Oliver, Torrero, Historic Casco, San José and Valdefierro. Most of these buildings are part of the plan+housing that the City Council promotes with the government of Aragon, and others are being built with European funds.
To the construction of affordable housing, the call for rental aid that every year launches the Youth Service of the City Council is added, aimed at young registered in the city that have a rental contract, both individually and shared.
Economic amounts increase
In 2024, 570 young people enjoyed this aid that is made in a unique payment. Most of the aid have been for young people who share housing (393), while the rest (177) have been for individual housing. Of the total beneficiaries, 378 are girls and 192 boys.
Like last year, two economic amounts have been set based on income, with the difference that the amount has increased this year. For young people whose annual income is between 8,400 euros, that is, once the IPREM, and 16,800 euros (twice the IPREM), an aid of 3,300 euros has been set compared to 3,000 last year.
On the other hand, for those who have income between 16,800 euros (twice the IPREM) and 25,200 (3 times the IPREM), the aid is 2,200 euros compared to 2,000 last year. In response to market prices, the requirements of the limit rental to be able to receive help, from 650 euros to 950 euros, have been increased. In the case of shared homes, the limit of individual contribution is 475 euros.
Once approved by government, the aid will be published on the municipal website, from where the application may be submitted. The deadline will be two months from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the province of Zaragoza.
