Ben Harper and Quique González sign a new full in Lanuza in the penultimate night of Pyrenees Sur

Jul 28, 2025

With a master’s degree within the reach of few guitarists, Ben Harper offered on Saturday an impeccable recital accompanied by his band The Innocents Criminals, with which he achieved the fifth ‘Sold Out’ of the South Pyrenees 2025. The most rock and blues sound night in the edition has had the most claimed American claim, but Quique González, one of the most outstanding classic rock composers in the country, also laid with a very faithful legion of fans. In this way, with this fifth full in the Amphitheater of Lanuza, a record is reached: it is the only edition that has achieved this brand. Thus, 45,000 spectators are almost reached during the thirteen concerts that have been held this year, waiting for the last night, with resident, Gale and Laura Sam.

With the hat well embedded and with his fist he went on stage Ben Harper to develop a repertoire without ties, free of the presentation of any album, pecking from all his times. Obviously, after three decades of great themes there is a lot to choose from. Although his acclaimed and perennial “Welcome to the cruel world” remains one of the great moments of his recitals. There they were at the “Glory & Concenence” start, “Don’t Give Up Now” or “Diamonds on the Inside”. And in a little longer, the guitarist had already traveled the blues, electric and acoustic rock, reggae … his ease of developing different passages was Pasmosa.

With Harper al Steel Guitar and an irresistible percussion came the time of the bise. First with a delicious song to Capela played by Harper and all the Innocent Criminals that ended with a heated ovation, and then some of its great classics. One of the most class concerts throughout the festival and a song for memory: “Waiting on an angel.”

If there is an artist who is renewing classic patriotic rock, that is Quique González. The musician has managed to drink both legendary singer -songwriters via Bob Dylan, and new bands that were revulsive, such as Wilco. And with those has achieved a totally recognizable sound and that has led him to be one of the most important figures of the genre. Thus at the last hours of the afternoon, hundreds of people accumulated on the edge of the swamp so as not to miss anything from their recital, which meant the end of their summer tour.

New album

Quique González said in a recent interview that Pyrenees Sur is at the festival that you most want to act. The loss of the floating stage makes magic with many artists and the singer -songwriter helped this unique environment, to deliver an impeccable concert, appealed to themes of all its stages. Although to start his show, he turned to his last release, “Blue velvet”, which serves as an advance of his next new album. He proceeded with his version of one of his header, Bob Dylan, with “love in vain”, and like the American, he has opted for his repertoire that moved between the most acoustic and the most electric sound.

The best came with “Crucadas Lives” and “even if you don’t know”, one of his great hits that had not interpreted on this tour. With this poem adapted by Luis García Montero, the spirit of Enrique Urquijo, to whom the subject is dedicated, the Pantano de Lanuza survived

LAST NIGHT

The 32nd edition of South Pyrenees will conclude tomorrow with Resident, Gale and Laura Sam. Resident is one of the most influential figures of contemporary and co-founder Latin music of Calle 13. The Puerto Rican has a unique style, which combines hip-hop, urban music and traditional rhythms in Latin America along with letters loaded with social criticism and poetry, transcend the musical to become a voice of change and resistance.

His compatriot Gale is an acclaimed composer who has worked with first -level names, such as Shakira, Juanes or Cardi B. In 2023 he released his first album, “what I did not tell you”, with which he wanted to explore all his talent: of the high intensity punk to the elegant ballads. Laura Sam is considered one of the main referents of the Spoken Word in our country and will come willing to display her combative and reflective new work, the EP “Love and Lead”, produced along with one of the names of the moment, Mr Worth.
