
Aragon TV will broadcast this season the open matches of Real Zaragoza and SD Huesca
Aragon TV reinforces its commitment to Aragonese sport with the broadcast, this next season, of the matches that open the open the Real Zaragoza and the Huesca Sports Society in the Second Division League Championship. This has been announced by the chain after the agreement reached with Mediapro, head of television rights. Both Aragón TV and its Aragon Sports Digital can offer the meetings of the Aragonese teams that Mediapro designates for open issuance.
In this way, Aragon TV recovers ten years later the regular broadcast of Second Division meetings. The 2014/2015 season was the last one in which Aragon TV recurrently issued these matches, 14 in total. Since then, only matches have been issued sporadically in the 2020/21 seasons and in 2021/22.
With this agreement, the chain responds to the demand of Aragonese fans, who can follow open meetings through their regional television and with the chain commentators team. Traditionally, the matches played by the Aragonese teams have had broad monitoring by the audience.

The highest fact of a Real Zaragoza match in screen share was Real Zaragoza-Girona, played in June 2015, with 39.6%. The highest data of a party of the S. D. Huesca in share of the Real Zaragoza-SD Huesca derby, of December 2008, with a 35.6% share, the first without being derby was the Gymnastic Tarragona-SD Huesca played in May 2015, with 27.8%.
The Aragonese Radiotelevisión has announced this agreement with Mediapro this Wednesday during the presentation of the Ciudad de Zaragoza Memorial Carlos Lapetra trophy that this year will be played on Saturday, August 9. The SD Huesca will be the rival of Real Zaragoza in this friendly meeting with which both teams face the final stretch of its preparation for the new season of the Hypermotion 2025/26 League, which begins on Friday, August 15. The match can be continued live from 9.30 pm through Aragon TV, Aragon Sports and Aragon Radio streaming.

Fernando López, general director of Real Zaragoza, said that “we made special illusion to recover this Memorial Trophy Carlos Lapetra and is the perfect climax to finish the preseason.” He wanted to thank “the support of the Cartv with Aragonese football and the S.D Huesca for accepting this invitation.”
For his part, Ricardo Mur, CEO of the S.D Huesca, has indicated that “it is a magnificent occasion to make the inauguration of this Ibercaja stadium, and it will be a day of joy to enjoy football, on a very marked day for the Oscenses, in which their parties begin.” He also wanted to point out that this meeting “strengthens the ties between Real Zaragoza and S.D Huesca, and shows the love and good treatment we have both teams.”
The general director of the CARTV, Raquel Fuertes, has highlighted the importance of this agreement to bring professional football to Aragonese homes and reinforce the connection of the chain with the fans of the community teams. In this sense, it has underlined the importance of the “diverse and constant” bet of the sport chain. In the last year, 124 sports broadcasts have been offered through DTT and 745 on the Aragon Sports Streaming channel. Some figures that this year “will be overcome again since at the moment we have already been a hundred broadcasts more than on the same dates of last year,” he said.
As in previous seasons, Aragon TV, Aragon Sports and Aragon Radio will continue to offer the competitions of the different competitions in which the Aragonese teams and athletes have a presence. They will broadcast from basketball, football, motorcycling, hockey, cycling, rhythmic gymnastics, paddle and all kinds of individual competitions.
For Raquel Fuertes they are data that “consolidate Aragon TV as a reference in the dissemination of sport. We bet both for very often disciplines and for those that, without great foci, have a faithful hobby.” In addition, as explained, “they are specially followed by younger audiences.”
