The DGT foresees 550,000 displacements per Aragon in the special traffic operation of August 1

Jul 31, 2025

The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) A new special operation will activate from this Thursday on the occasion of August 1, one of the most intense mobility peaks of the summer. In Aragon, more than 550,000 displacements are planned from 3 pm on Thursday, July 31 to 00.00 on Sunday, August 3. During these days the journeys of those who start their vacations, those who return after July and the usual weekend displacements will coincide on the road.

The DGT will launch a broad device for regulation, management and surveillance of traffic with agents of the Civil Guard, personnel of the management centers, helicopters and maintenance technicians. The objective is to guarantee road safety and minimize retentions, especially in the exits of large urban centers to coastal, mountain or second residence areas.

Critical hours on the roads

The hours of greater intensity will be concentrated on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on Friday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 9 pm, on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The DGT asks to avoid these sections if possible, and consult in real time the state of traffic via telephone 011, the DGT website, social networks or teletext.

Paralyzed works and conflicting sections

During this device, all works that affect the circulation from 1:00 p.m. on Thursday night will be paralyzed. However, the DGT points out several conflicting sections in Aragon, where retentions could occur: the N-330 (km 614-617), between Lanave and Hostal of Ipiés, for the end of the highway in the direction Huesca, for works of the future A-22.

It is also recommended to extreme caution in the sections with works in execution, such as the N-232 in sources of Ebro and Mallén, the N-234 in the variant of Teruel or the N-330 as it passes through Villastar and Sabiñánigo.

To relieve traffic, the DGT advises to opt for the AP-68 instead of the A-68 and N-232 (section Saragossa-La Rioja), as well as using the South Z-40 if the northern round is congested or the Ara-A1 road between Villafranca de Ebro and Ebro Burgo.

Tips for traveling safely

From traffic they insist on checking the vehicle before the trip, programming the journey avoiding peak hours and resting enough. During the trip, the mandatory belt use, child retention systems, helmet and pre -healization devices in case of fault is remembered. In addition, an appeal is not called to drink alcohol and not mark time goals that can cause imprudence at the wheel.

The special traffic operation of August 1 marks the beginning of the month with the highest volume of road displacements throughout the year. The DGT recalls that the best prevention is a responsible, patient and adapted conduction to the circumstances of traffic and the road.
