The music returns to Veruela this Saturday with James Rhodes in a new edition of Veruela Summer
He Veruela Monastery It reopens its doors this Saturday, August 2 to host a new edition of the Veruela Summer Festival, which starts with the expected concert of the British pianist James Rhodes. It will be the first of the four intimate and unique events that, as every year, will fill the church of the monastery with music and emotion during the Saturdays of August. The cycle is organized by the Diputación de Zaragoza and maintains its usual format: reduced capacity, privileged acoustics and top -level artists.
This year’s edition brings together four consecrated artists and very diverse styles that come to Veruela with their latest works: James Rhodes, Abraham Boba, Estrella Morente and the Kanka. They all share a commitment determined by beauty, authenticity and emotion, elements that naturally connect with the spirit of the festival and with the magical environment of the monastery.
The person inaugurated this edition will be James Rhodes, one of the most unique figures of the current musical panorama. Accompanied by his piano, the artist will present “Manía”, his latest album, in a concert that promises to be a transforming experience for the public. The recital will begin at 19.30, with doors opening half an hour before.
The cycle will continue on August 9 with Abraham Boba, leader of León Benavente, who will offer a solo recital to piano and voice; on August 16 with Estrella Morente, great figure of the current flamenco; and on August 23 with the Kanka, a modern troubadour that will close the festival with its lyrics loaded with humor, tenderness and reflection.
Currently, tickets are exhausted for the concerts of James Rhodes, Estrella Morente and the Kanka, and only tickets for Abraham Boba’s recital are available, which can be purchased at a price of 9 euros in the Ibercaja network.
With a maximum capacity of 450 people per concert, the Church of the Monastery of Santa María de Veruela becomes during these weeks a musical temple in which history, landscape and emotion merge. The experience of enjoying music in this privileged environment is, one more year, the essence of a festival that continues to make history.
