Bielsa’s hostel reopens its doors after a reform of more than 3.2 million euros

The hostel of Bielsa He has reopened its doors after seven months of works, in which more than 3.2 million euros have been invested to completely modernize and renew its facilities. The action is part of an Investment Plan of Paradores, which plans to renew more than 50% of its establishments before its centenary in 2028. In total, more than 250 million euros will be invested throughout the country to reinforce its commitment to the sustainability, the accessibility and the quality of the tourist experience.

In the case of Bielsa, it has acted in all the key areas of the building: soils and windows have been changed, a biomass boiler has been installed to improve energy efficiency and an integral renewal of rooms and bathrooms has been undertaken. In addition, a complete decorative redesign has been carried out, with a specific investment of 700,000 euros, which maintains the essence of the hostel as a mountain shelter but with a more current image.

“The reopening of the Bielsa Parador, located in the heart of the Ordesa and Monte Lost National Park, is a clear example of our commitment as a public company with the territories where our hostels are located,” said Raquel Sánchez during the visit.

Inaugurated in 1968, the Bielsa hostel is nestled in the Pineta Valley, at the foot of Monte Lost. His style, based on stone and wood, makes it a lodging highly appreciated by those who seek nature, mountain and quality gastronomy. Among its proposals is the “Nature for the senses” program, which offers sustainable ecotourism experiences, respectful of the environment and focused on local development.

Aragon with expanding hostels

At the moment, Aragon It has four hostels in operation: Alcañiz, Teruel, You are from the Catholic king and now again Bielsa. In the spring of 2026 a fifth will be added: the hostel of Veruela, located in the old monastery of Santa María de Veruela, in Vera del Moncayo (Saragossa). Joint investment in Aragon between Paradores and Turesspaña already amounts to 16.5 million euros.

The data support this strategy since in 2024, Aragonese hostels reached an average occupation of 72%, with more than 50,000 customers housed. In the first semester of 2025, and despite Bielsa’s temporary closure, the average occupation rose to 74%.
