El Pirineo cierra julio con 14 rescates en la montaña en sólo cuatro días: desplomes, caídas y pérdidas

The month of July has ended with an intense activity of Rescue In the Oscense mountain. Between July 28 and 31, the different teams of the Greim (Rescue and intervention groups in the mountain) of the Civil Guard of Huesca, together with the air and health personnel of 061, they have participated in 14 aid operations to hikers, Barranquistas and mountaineers in different parts of the Aragonese Pyrenees, with especially active areas such as Ordesa, Bielsa, Fanlo or Benasque.

All notices arrived through 112 sos Aragon and were coordinated from the Central 062 of the Civil Guard of Huesca. Rescues, mostly motivated by Falls, lipotimias, loss o Heat blows, in many cases required the participation of aircraft and the helicopter evacuation of affected people, some with serious injuries such as fractures of fibula, humerus or ankle.

Enriscados and injured hikers and hikers

This Monday, a 19 -year -old and neighbor of Saragossa He suffered a possible knee fracture on the balcony of Pineta (Bielsa), being evacuated by the Greim de Boltaña. The next day, on the 29th, four bailouts occurred, including the one with three mountaineers enriscados in Monte Lost (Fanlo), and that of a 65 -year -old hiker with heat stroke in the Congosto of Montrebei. Also that day, a 54 -year -old Dutch hiker was injured with a fracture of humerus in the Collado de Arrablo, and a 65 -year -old Canadian citizen was rescued after getting lost between Besurta and Aigualluts (Benasque).

On Wednesday he started with a rescue at 00.30 in the morning, when a 19 -year -old camp monitor and Guadalajara suffered a cervical sprain next to the Barrosa River (Bielsa). Later, a 55-year-old Belgian hiker fractured an ankle in the El Salto cascade (Sallent de Gállego), and another 62-year-old woman from A Coruña suffered a lipotimia in the horsetail (Torla-Aorda). The day ended with the rescue of five Dutch citizens, including three minors, who were lost and were left without food in the Salenques Valley (Montanuy).

Barranquistas and miss in the Rolando Gap

Already on Thursday, the last day of the month, five other devices were activated. A 50-year-old French Barranquist suffered an ankle fracture in the Formiga ravine (Casbas de Huesca), and another 45-year-old French Barranquist was slightly injured in the Miraval ravine (Tella-Sin). At 15.40 hours, a 48 -year -old Guipuzcoan mountain fractured the fibula in the vicinity of the Rolando Gap, in the National Park of Ordesa. In the afternoon, two other hikers suffered ankle sprains: one in the Ibón de Piedrafita (Biescas), and another near the Respomuso refuge (Sallent de Gállego).

The rapid intervention of the Greim de Benasque, Boltaña, Panticosa, Jaca and Huesca, with the support of the Air Units of Benasque and Huesca and the collaboration of 061 and the Red Cross, has been fundamental to successfully attend all the incidents, in one of the times with the greatest influx of hikers to the Pyrenees.

From the Civil Guard they remember the importance of properly planning the routes, carrying the necessary equipment, being well hydrated and consulting the weather before performing any mountain activity.
