These are the ten richest people in the world: no single woman

Aug 1, 2025

Elon Musk is, once again, the richest person in the world. According to the list updated by Forbes as of August 1, 2025, the businessman leads the ranking with a fortune estimated at 401,000 million dollars, despite having lost more than 5,000 million during the last month. They are followed by Larry Ellison, founder of Oracle, and Mark Zuckerberg, of Meta, in a list dominated by figures in the technological sector.

Musk, known for leading Tesla, Spacex and X (formerly Twitter), keeps first place worldwide, although its heritage was reduced in July. The fall did not prevent him from continuing to be the only billionaire that exceeds 400,000 million dollars.

Second is Larry Ellison, with a fortune of approximately 300,000 million dollars. Ellison is the founder of Oracle, one of the world’s largest software and cloud services companies. Its wealth grew by 37,000 million during the last month, benefited by the rise in the value of the shares of its company and its involvement in the recent purchase of the Paramount conglomerate by Skydance, a company led by its son.

The third place is occupied by Mark Zuckerberg, Meta Executive Director, Facebook Matrix, Instagram and WhatsApp. Its fortune amounts to 267,000 million dollars, after increasing by 12,000 million thanks to solid financial results and new investments in artificial intelligence.

Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, is located in sixth position, after climbing four positions in just one month. His company, dedicated to the development of graphic chips and processors for artificial intelligence, was one of the most prominent of July, with a stock market rise of 14 %. This allowed him to increase his wealth by 17,000 million dollars, reaching almost 155,000 million.

Other names present in the Top 10 are Jeff Bezos (Amazon), Larry Page and Sergey Brin (Google), Steve Ballmer (former Microsoft CEO), Warren Buffett (Berkshire Hathaway), and French businessman Bernard Arnault, leader of the LVMH luxury conglomerate, unique not American in the list.

Together, the ten largest fortunes of the planet total 2.1 billion dollars, 100,000 million more than at the beginning of July.

A list without female presence

Despite the generalized growth of these fortunes, the Forbes list stands out again for a significant fact: no woman is among the ten richest people in the world. Since the magazine began developing this ranking in 1987, the gender gap on the top of world wealth has been maintained constantly.
