Zaragoza opens the doors of their free museums this Sunday: these are the ones you can access

Aug 4, 2025

August arrives … and Saragossa It is emptied. The one that is the month par excellence of the holidays for many and the return for the less fortunate always entails a break. With the Theaters Closed waiting to go back up the curtain in September it seems that culture stops, but no. The Aragonese capital keeps some places to take refuge (also literally) and enjoy culture: museums. With some casualties between the options, as the Pablo Gargallo Museum, that of Zaragoza and El Goya are closed by works, the Aragonese capital has several exhibition centers that open their doors for free this Sunday.

As usual in municipal museums, all open for free the first Sundays of each month, that is, this August 3. To discover the Roman Zaragoza and take a tour of the vestiges of Caesaraugusta are the museums of the route of that same name. That is, the forum museum, that of public hot springs, that of the river port and the theater will have free entrance this Sunday.

Another of the museums to enjoy with family this Sunday is that of fire. And to admire one of the biggest collections of Asian art, just go to the fish market that, by the way, is always free. The Origami Museum It has been the last to join the free opening on Sundays and this August 3 will open its doors to show the art of folding the paper again and again.

Aljafía, also free.

It is one of the most representative architectural and heritage jewels of Zaragoza and is that in addition to being the headquarters of the courts of Aragon, The Aljafería Palace keep the Mudejar style among its walls in all its splendor. A mandatory stop for all those who land in the capital of the Ebro willing to do tourism or for those Aragonese who cannot resist seeing it again and again.

Thus, what perhaps not many knew is that the first Sundays of each month and on Monday afternoon the entrance to the Aljafía Palace is free.

Museums always free in Zaragoza

In Zaragoza, there is a good handful of museums that are free every day of the year. These are the IAACC Pablo Serrano, the Zaragoza Museum (now closed by works), the Palace of Montemuzo, the Morlanes House, the Center for Stories and the Museum of Natural Sciences.
