The Sonna Huesca caravan for this weekend in Benabarre, the Puy de Cinca and Albelda village

Aug 8, 2025

The sixth edition of Sonna Huesca, which brings culture to the peoples of the province through its caravan with 27 free performances and concerts, reaches its Ecuador this weekend. On this occasion the proposal is entirely musical and will visit Benabarre’s castle, the Puy de Cinca village (Drystille) and on Sunday will move to Albelda to inaugurate the Paseo del Siphon as the stage of the young contest.

The first event comes on Friday by Guillem Gisbert, former leader of the Manel Group, who presents at Benabarre Castle on August 8 the first work of his solo career, Balla La Masurca. Gisbert already participated with Manel at Sonna Huesca in 2021 in Viacamp Castle with the Bona Gent tour.

Apart from the Cartuja of Our Lady of Las Fuentes de Sariñena (2,000 spectators), Benabarre Castle is one of the most capacity of Sonna Huesca with a capacity for 500 spectators. There Guillem Gisbert will be presented after fifteen uninterrupted years of irreproachable pop with Manel. Just one year after the closing of the Bona Gent tour, the Catalan began a solo project that culminated in the publication of his work Balla La Masurca! In March last year.

The Barcelona musician maintains, as always, the song in the center of his approach, to continue doing what he likes so much: explore his corners, touch his margins, from ambition, elegance and eclecticism. Balla La Masurca!, The first solo album by Guillem Gisbert, contains eleven songs in which he has explored various musical genres and sound pallets, and in which he has formed different teams to produce his songs.

Puy de Cinca village, a singular stop

The next day he debuts as the scenario of the Festival Sounds in Nature The village of Puy de Cinca, in the municipality of Drystilla. The Puy de Cinca village is located three kilometers from the depopulated of Puy de Cinca, on the left shore of the Rio reservoir. Both were depopulated with the construction of the swamp of El Grade, in the sixties. It was subsequently occupied by some families of Neorros.

Since 2014, the Puy de Cinca village has been managed by the Ruralization Laboratory Association, which manages the holiday space and environmental recovery center through the Casa Salinas shelter, open throughout the year and center of summer colonies.

In that environment, the musical idyll Menorquín Marco Mezquida and the Catalan guitarist Chicuelo, who have reaffirmed their artistic communion with Del Alma (2024), their third album created to four hands, after those of connection (2017) and there are no two without three (2019), with which they close a trilogy of new and free music, the fruit of the strong spiritual and musical connection between both creators, teachers of their creators, teachers of their respective styles, flamenco and jazz.

The next day, the contest moves to the literary town of Albelda; Specifically to the Paseo del Siphon, which will also debut as the Sonna Huesca scenario. The natural path of Albelda Siphon is a tour to celebrate a century of hydrological engineering. The implementation of the Canal of Aragon and Catalonia in 1909 transformed the agriculture of Albelda and the landscape of the environment. The Paseo del Siphon is the last stretch of the so -called Natural Camino de Albelda. A Acacias walk leads to the Interpretation Center, with banks, tables and interpretive panels that receive the visitor.

In that environment they will play Samuel Azorín and Mario Vidal, the Aragonese duo of Rosín de Palo. After being part of several classic bands and orchestras, Samuel and Mario formed Rosín de Palo, joining the best and worst of each to create their own musical speech, which takes classical and/or contemporary music as a starting point and fuses it with new sounds. Palo Rosín are defined as two conservatory students with many ideas and eager to experiment, who combine a double bass and percussion set to form the most unpredictable musical duo of our scene.

In 2022 they published what a recess lasts and a year later Taboke EP would arrive. Last year they enrolled in their most ambitious, ñaque project, and currently turn with the most daring: compose and interpret an alternative soundtrack for the movie Kirikú and the Witch (a retina initiative, Zaragoza’s film and music festival).
