His music roared since Casetas and resonated in all Spain. Now, the story of Pedro Botero, one of the most emblematic bands of Aragonese rock, will reach the big screen with the documentary “Las Calderas de Pedro Botero”.

The film, which will be released in September 2025 and will go through national and regional festivals, is a tribute to a band that was born in 1973 and that, decades later, remains “at the foot of the cannon”. Through unpublished images and personal testimonies, the documentary reviews his musical career, his roots in the neighborhood of Casetas and his role in the history of Spanish rock.

“Pedro Botero was much more than a rock group: it was a band deeply loved by its people, and with a story that deserved to be told,” says the director, Etna N. Romero, who worked with the group for the first time in 2016 and since then felt the need to capture his audiovisually legacy.

A trip to the Aragonese rock heart

Pedro Botero’s boilers not only talk about music. It is a chronicle about the music industry between the 70s and 90s, about the struggle of local bands to make their way, about the identity of a neighborhood and about the power of cultural resistance. The band lived their golden age during the 80s, sharing the stage with key names of the national heavy, and then reborn in 2014 with new forces, new formation and the same combative spirit.

The documentary revives its beginnings in the rehearsal premises of booths, unforgettable concerts, homemade recordings and link with a generation that found in its music a form of expression and community.

Behind this project is the Kappa Producciones, a young Aragonese producer founded in 2022, who has gained recognition for her works as “pioneers: better tricks” or the “white and bottle” podcast.
