The municipality of Aragon that stands out by size: exceeds Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia
On any day, when touring the streets and squares of Knights Axis, it is easy to think that we are in one more town. However, its municipal term covers almost 610 square kilometers, an extension that eclipses even many better known municipalities in Spain.
The town of Zaragoza with a miraculous basilica: it has a historic building per 100 inhabitants
While visitors focus on monuments and gastronomy, what really surprises – and goes unnoticed – is their immense territory, a curious fact that deserves to be rediscovered by all. Counting what axis of the gentlemen hides in their urban nucleus an intimate beauty is as true as pointing out that this nucleus is just the tip of a vast iceberg.
Its history, its alquerías, its medieval legacies … they disperse harmoniously into a space that is often not valued as it should. Precisely, in a country where the big is high in height, it is also convenient to highlight the great extension, and in that, Ejea has little to envy large cities such as Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia.

With an area of approximately 615 kilometers square, axis of the gentlemen is positioned as the second largest municipality in Aragon, only behind the municipality of Saragossa.
The municipal term is not a homogeneous space, but a unique population mosaic
To put it in perspective, it exceeds in size Spanish cities: Madrid (602km²), Barcelona (101km²) or Valencia (134km²) in urban terms and, in the case of the metropolitan areas of Valencia that group about 629km², it is at the same time. Despite this, Ejea continues to be little known outside Aragon.
A municipality formed by several locations
The municipal term is not a homogeneous space, but a unique population mosaic. In addition to the Central Villa, Ejea de los Caballeros integrates eight population centers: Bardenas, El Bayo, El Sabinar, Farasdués, Pinsoro, Rivas, Santa Anastasia and Valareña.
These are historical villages (such as Rivas or Farasdués) and settlements that emerged in the 50s and 60s, associated with the development of irrigation after the construction of the YESA reservoir and the Bardenas channel. This territorial plurality is part of the attractiveness of the town.
