Aragon keeps the yellow alert for storms and temperatures will touch the 40 degrees this week
The worst forecasts of the Aemet, State Meteorology Agency, were fulfilled and the oranges that were activated on Friday, translated this weekend in torrential rains and strong storms that destroyed locations such as Azuara, Letux, Vinaceite Herrera de los Navarros or Almonacid de la Cuba. The president of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, The affected municipalities will visit on Monday, where the neighbors have thrown into the streets to reduce water, clean mud and try to save those homes that have been destroyed. Fortunately, there have not been to regret human damage.
What happened in the affected areas was cataloged by the Aemet as a convective train with persistent showers, that is, storms that are chained one after another. The worst of this phenomenon has already happened and practically the entire community is already out of danger in terms of storms, except for Teruel. Both the Gúdar and Maestrazgo area and that of Albarracín and Jiloca have active the yellow alert for rains and storms that, although they are not expected as intense as those of the weekend could leave hail.
The alert is activated for this Monday between 14.00 and 21.59 and rains are expected that could leave a accumulated precipitation in an hour of 15 mm. The hail in those storms is not ruled out. For now, the AEMET has not activated the alert for other days of the week, although in Teruel is also expected isolated storms this Tuesday afternoon.
Tropical nights and temperatures touching 40 degrees
Already without danger of storms, if for something it is going to be characterized this week it is because it will be very hot. The Aemet warns of intense heat, full summer, with very warm nights in which temperatures will range between 22 and 24 degrees in some areas. The maximum will touch the 40 degrees at some points such as in Zaragoza capital and will hardly fall from 35 degrees in the rest of the community.
Thus, the AEMET has already activated the extreme heat alerts at some points as in the Ebro banks for this Tuesday with maximum of 37 degrees. Everything indicates that the agency will implement this same measure as the week progresses because, today, the highest temperatures are expected from Thursday with 39 degrees of maximum in Zaragoza, 36 in Huesca and 34 in Teruel.
