Pineda helps dogs: Vila-Seca opens this summer five parks for canine recreation

Jun 17, 2025

Vila-Seca, one of the favorite destinations for the families of Aragon that veranea on the Costa Dorada, prepares important novelties for this summer. The Catalan city will feature five new canine recreation parks, renewed children’s games and the rehabilitation of an ancient civil war machine gun on the beach of Racó. All these actions have been approved by the Local Government Board with the aim of improving public spaces and offering new leisure options for those who visit Vila-Seca with children or pets.

Salou bets on sustainability with the implementation of low consumption feet in their coves

These types of improvements revalue the tourist experience in an especially popular area between Aragonese families, looking for beach, tranquility and adapted services. Either in the urban nucleus, in the Pineda or in the flat, the novelties promoted by the City Council put the focus on accessibility, animal welfare and the preservation of heritage.

Five new dog parks in Vila-Seca

One of the most prominent projects is the creation of five canine recreation parks in different parts of the municipality. As reported by the City Council, the objective is to promote animal coexistence and well -being by offering safe, delimited and adapted spaces for both dogs and their owners.

In Vila-Seca, the parks will be located in the passage of L’Bat Aureli M. Escarré, the Parque de la Gaseta and the park of Austà. In La Pineda, one will be enabled in the Prats Park, and in the flat, next to the complex sport. The project is expected to be tendered after the summer, with the intention of awarding it before the end of the year.

For the Aragonese who travel with pet, these canine areas represent a significant improvement, since they allow animals to run, play and socialize safely during vacations.

New children’s games in the flat

Another of the agreements adopted by the Local Government Board is the renewal of the Ramon Roig Park, in La Plana. In this space three new children’s games will be installed, in an action that seeks to expand and update the offer of family leisure in the municipality.

These types of interventions are especially attractive to families with children who choose Vila-Seca as a summer destination. The improvement of urban furniture and the inclusion of accessible and modern games convert parks into meeting and rest places during heat days.

Rehabilitation of the machine gun in La Pineda

With the will to preserve the historical heritage, the City Council has also approved the minor contract to rehabilitate the machine gun located on the Racó beach, in La Pineda. This defensive element, built during the Civil War, is part of the coastal landscape and its restoration will improve its conservation and value it as part of the historical legacy of the area.

It is an intervention that combines history and cultural tourism, highly valued by those who wish to know beyond the beaches. For travelers from Aragon, it is an opportunity to approach the recent past of Catalonia from a large landscape value.

Vila-Seca, a destination that thinks of everyone

These initiatives reinforce Vila-Seca’s commitment to become a complete, familiar and sustainable tourist destination. Just over two hours by car from Saragossa, this town of Tarraconense continues to improve its services with actions that favor inclusion, outdoor leisure and respect for the environment.

Whether to enjoy the sea in La Pineda, visiting Portaventura, walking with the dog or resting with the children in a park, Vila-Seca adds arguments to continue being one of the destinations preferred by the Aragonese on the Costa Dorada. And this summer 2025, more than ever, will do it with new spaces that look at the future without forgetting their history.
