Amaia conquers the top of South Pyrenees with a Sold Out, vibrant and emotional concert
Amaia shone this Saturday on the floating stage of South Pyrenees, with a concert as delicate as overwhelming that has turned his first performance in the festival into a true milestone. The Navarra singer presented her last work “if I open my eyes is not real” accompanied by an impressive staging, an impeccable sound and an absolute connection with the public that completely filled the Lanuza amphitheater, in one of the most anticipated concerts of this edition.

The appointment also had the performance of Izaro, who replaced Valeria Castro at the last minute, absent from the death of his grandmother. The Biscay artist offered an intimate and sincere recital, in which she presented her new album “Cerodenero”, and paid tribute to Castro with the emotional theme “The Root”, after remembering her collaboration in “Friend as you.”

From the first theme, “Tocotó”, a playful reinterpretation of the “run, run, horse”, Amaia made it clear that her show went beyond conventional pop. Versions of the planets (“Santos that I paint you”), tributes to Lorca with “Zorongo Gitano” and references to folklore with their jota “Yamaguchi” mixed with their own songs such as “Magic in Benidorm”, “Nanai” or “C’est la Vie”, chanted by a fully delivered audience.
Accompanied by a solid band (percussion, low, keyboards and guitar), careful choreographies and spectacular light effects, Amaia proved to be a total artist. But beyond the visual show, what really captivated was his intense and delicate voice, capable of exciting at times like “already” or saying strongly with “welcome to the show.”

Izaro’s performance was a sample of sensitivity and commitment to the festival and with his partner Valeria Castro, to whom he dedicated his repertoire. Accompanied by a band in classic format and piano in several songs, the Biscay offered an emotional journey that was growing in intensity from the delicate “Iparraldera” to a collective closure with “The Root”.
Between the most intimate pop and the music of roots, Izaro also conquered the public, who responded warmly to each of his songs, especially “My song for Elisa”, dedicated to his own grandmother, in a recital loaded with emotion, respect and beauty.

The Festival contained a new Sold Out this Sunday. The national indie will be the protagonist with Viva Sweden, one of the most important bands of the Spanish landscape, which will share a poster with ultralight, an emerging group that has emerged with its album “Focus hair”, where they mix indie-pop and elegant electronics.
The International Festival of Cultures faces its last week with outstanding concerts such as those of Nathy Peluso, Julieta Venegas, Zaz, Ben Harper, Resident or Quique González, among others. The XXXII Edition of Pyrenees Sur will close next Sunday, July 27, with a poster that continues to combine tradition, innovation and cultural diversity.
