Israel debuts in Zaragoza in the European U-18 of Sóbol between protests
The XVIII edition of the Women’s European Sub-18 championship has rolled this Monday in the neighborhood of Miralbueno from Zaragoza and has done so with the participation of Israel In his first tournament match. A situation that has caused a certain controversy and has caused protests in the outskirts of the field.
After the refusal of the Government of Navarra to host the matches of the Israeli team, Zaragoza offered to house the delegation of Israel and get the championship to be held. In this way, the competition is being played between Navarre and Mañas lands with the Israelites playing in the Aragonese capital.
This Monday at 12.00, Israel has played its first match in the tournament against the Czech Republic and in the Miralbueno baseball field and its surroundings have been able to observe two very different images.

On the contrary, one could live in the outskirts of the countryside where a group of people has concentrated to protest the decision to house Israel’s parties, showing Palestine flags and a banner in which you could read: “Israel plays in Zaragoza with the complicity of the City Council and the mayor. Natalia Chueca’s words
This Monday morning in an act, the mayor of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca, has referred to the issue, stating that the veto that the Government of Navarra has put “does not represent the values of sport” and that “sport cannot be conditioned by politics.”
“It seemed to me that leaving those 500 girls and their relatives and companions without being able to celebrate that championship, simply by a requirement of Bildu, did not seem like a receipt and therefore Zaragoza will be able to host the matches,” added the mayor.
