The XVIII edition of the Women’s European Sub-18 championship has rolled this Monday in the neighborhood of Miralbueno from Zaragoza and has done so with the participation of Israel In his first tournament match. After the refusal of the Government of Navarra to host the matches of the Israeli team, Zaragoza offered to house the delegation of Israel and get the championship to be held. This Monday morning in an act, the mayor of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca, has referred to the issue, stating that the veto that the Government of Navarra has put “does not represent the values of sport” and that “sport cannot be conditioned by politics.”
“It seemed to me that leaving those 500 girls and their relatives and companions without being able to celebrate that championship, simply by a requirement of Bildu, did not seem like a receipt and therefore Zaragoza will be able to host the matches,” added the mayor.
