The return premieres, within the framework of its new program La Vuelta is more, the quality seal “more bike”, a distinctive that will be granted to headquarters of the race committed to the daily use of the bicycle. In this first edition of the seal, Saragossa It has become one of the five candidates to obtain this prestigious recognition.

Taking another step in the usual close relationship between the organization of the competition and the local institutions, this seal was born with the objective of assessing the institutions committed to the dynamic and positive promotion of cycling. A seal that is born from the ambition to build a legacy around the return, leaving a mark beyond the passage of the race for a day.

90 anniversary of the return

This year, in commemoration of the 90th anniversary of La Vuelta, the candidates to obtain this seal are five cities that were part of the first edition of the race, in 1935, and that are present in the route of the Women’s Tour By Carrefour.es in this 2025: Zaragoza, Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, and Valladolid. All of them have accepted the invitation to participate in the initiative and to undergo the evaluation of the jury, which will analyze five issues related to the promotion of the bicycle: governance, infrastructure, services and services Education, Sport and tourism.

The jury, composed of Unipublic, the Spanish associations Conbici (Spanish coordinator in defense of the bicycle) and Redbici (network of cities and territories by the bicycle) and the international consultant Copenhagenize, has met this Monday to evaluate the dossiers sent by the candidate cities. During the next months the organization will announce the results of the candidacies, in an act around the celebration of the Vuelta.

After this first edition, the seal will open for all the cities that have hosted the return throughout its history, and may opt for it if they meet the established requirements.

With the creation of this seal, the Spanish round continues to take steps in its new program The Tour is more, which promotes cycling beyond professional competition, promoting the use of the bicycle as a backbone of a healthy lifestyle and a tool to improve social welfare. With this initiative, the return wants to strengthen the bond between the bicycles of the champions and those of day to day, promoting actions that integrate cycling into the daily life of people.
