On the occasion of 75th anniversary of the Royal Brotherhood of San Juan de la Peña, the Plaza de San Juan de Teruel He hosts from Monday a photographic exhibition that invites to rediscover the past and present of the monastery of San Juan de la Peña, one of the most important symbols of Aragonese heritage. The exhibition, entitled “A walk through history with José Luis Solano”, can be visited until August 5.

The exhibition is composed of ten cubes with 40 faces in total, which offer a visual comparison of the current state of the monastery against its historical image. The current photographs have been made by José Luis Solano, who was keeping heritage and the last person who lived in the Forest House of the Pradera de San Indalecio.

“With this exhibition we intend to bring the monastery closer to all the Aragonese to know it more and better since it has had a great evolution. It is good that we bring our territory closer and the main monuments to the people who cannot come to see them, so that we bring the monastery itself to Teruel. We hope that people enjoy it,” said Félix Longás, older brother of the Royal Brotherhood of San Juan de la Peña.

The mayor, Emma Buj, thanked the Brotherhood of the Monastery of San Juan de la Peña who wanted to bring to Teruel the heritage of all the Aragonese and that of all Spaniards “because we are talking about a monument that belongs to national heritage.” It is an exhibition “and has pointed out“ that it will serve so that all those who do not know the monastery, do you want to go and visit it and deepen the story of Spain And above all of the history of Aragon of which we have to feel so proud. ”
