The Plan-Chia track and the second access to Cerler by Castanesa could be finished in 2027 and 2028
The DGA has put a new date at the end of the track between Plan and Chia and the second access to Cerler’s ski resort by Castanesa. Two projects where the Aragonese Executive is not the only actor involved, but that local institutions and the Diputación de Huesca, but that have passed this Wednesday through the Governing Council. The goal is for the first to be finished in 2027 and the second one year later, as explained by the Minister of Finance, Roberto Bermúdez de Castro.
For the 25 kilometers between Plan and Chia and the connection with the HU-V-6412 road, the collaboration agreement with the DPH and the municipalities of the aforementioned localities and that of Sahún has been given. 7.5 million euros will be invested, of which 4.2 come from the government of Aragon and the remaining 4.4 of the Diputación.
The consignment of the DGA is of a multiannual nature until 2027, when the track is planned to be finished. Through subsidies to the DPH, 1.1 million will be invested this year, 1.35 the following and 1.75 the last. The provincial institution will be in charge of writing and tendering the projects so that the section can be traveled in 45 minutes less than with the current connections between the valleys of Plan and Benasque.
Among the actions, “it will act on the superficial drainage, some curves will be softened and the or firm track of which it now lacks” will be provided, which will consist “in a layer of artificial zahorra and another of agglomerate.” The works will be accompanied by improvements in signage, beaconing and other containment elements, details the order of the Council.

On the other hand, green light has been given to the construction of the second access to the Cerler ski resort by Castanesa, a project consigned with another 7.5 million euros and where the Montanuy City Council is also involved, Aramon and the DPH. The new agreement is part of Ribargorza’s tourism promotion strategy.
This route will be enabled “for all types of vehicles” and will start from the town of Castanesa to the new parking lot of the ski complex. It is the last 7.5 kilometers to the first telesillas and the 4.8 kilometers of an existing track will be used, where the layout will be widened and conditioned. The rest will be made from scratch.
Bermúdez de Castro has specified that, to undertake the works, the road from another piga already runs must be removed. “He will be the opportunity to enter a new valley,” he said.
