Sur Pyrenees 2025 closes with record figures: more than 47,000 attendees and five “sold outs”
Nathy Peluso, Elena Rose, Zaz, Camila Guevara, Julieta Venegas, Yerai Cortes, Ben Harper, Quique González, Resident, Laura Sam and Gale have performed this week in South Pyrenees putting the closure to its XXXII edition, through which more than 47,000 attendees and five sold out with Viva Sweden, Amaia, Manu Chao, Julieta Venegas and Ben Harper have passed. In total, there have been 26 concerts over 16 days on the floating stage of Lanuza with the poster with the greatest female presence in its history. They have shared the scenario until thirteen women of different genres, generations and cultures: Natalia Lafourcade, the white dog, Delaport, Izaro, Maika Makovski …
South Pyrenees continues to bet on a varied poster and for all audiences, which have come from every corner of the world: people of up to 64 nationalities and six continents have stepped on the amphitheater in this successful edition and “have filled with music, diversity, reflection and commitment the floating scenario of Lanuza,” says Amalia Ortiz, director of the festival.
In this sense, Isaac Claver, president of the Provincial Council of Huesca, wanted to emphas There are two types of people: those who have lived the South Pyrenees and those that not yet.
And, this festival involves an important economic impact in the area “Broking the 100% hotel occupancy in these three weeks, not only in the populations where it develops, Lanuza and Sallent de Gállego, but also throughout the valley, which makes South Pyrenees an essential event,” says Jesús Pellejero, president of the Valle de Tena Tourist Association. It also points out that “55% of overnight stays have been for two nights and 15% even three, their interests being mainly the festival combined with nature and mountain.”
Pellejero also wanted to emphasize that “the anticipation of the planning and quality of the poster have had a very positive impact on the reserves, as well as the effective functioning of the mobility and parking control system in Sallent de Gállego, which has facilitated a comfortable and safe experience for both visitors and neighbors.”
And, without a doubt, one of the attractions of this festival is the place where it is located: a floating scenario on the population reservoir recovered from Lanuza and surrounded by imposing mountains in the Pyrenees of Oscense. In fact, even the rain, which has been present in some of the days, is a guest artist more and is part of the magic of this event. Thus, “Pyrenees Sur demonstrates that culture is the engine and tool for development and cohesion, especially thanking the mountain to receive us and offer it with music,” said director Amalia Ortiz, who also wanted to highlight that “this edition is the cluster of a team of 125 professionals working for 30 days.”
For a festival and a more sustainable territory
One of the most important bets of the last edition was the commitment to sustainability. After very positive results for the public and for the environment of the Valley of Tena, this year efforts and Pyrenees South have become a reference in this aspect.
For the second consecutive year, Pyrenees Sur has put in operation bushing buses that have used more than 19,000 people to make 40,000 transfers from Formigal to Sallent de Gállego and the Lanuza enclosure itself during the concert days. Reinforcement and improvements in this mobility system has meant an increase in users of 14% compared to last year, confirming the public’s commitment to sustainability marked by the festival. And, one of the objectives of this edition was to generate a traffic free space to enjoy and take care of the natural environment.
A chameleonic scenario for all styles
In recent years, the festival has opened to all styles and all types of audiences, without losing its essence, both with great names consecrated and new promises: Tquinho, Michael Kiwanuka, Ben Harper, Quique González, Manu Chao, Viva Sweden, Juanjo Bona, Ultraligue or Yerai Cortés. In addition, this edition has been characterized by being the one that has had the greatest female presence in the poster, specifically thirteen women referring to their genres and commitments: the white dog, Maika Makovski, Delaporte, Amaia, Valeria Castro, Nathy Peluso, Elena Rose, Zaz, Camila Guevara, Laura Sam, Gale and the Mexican Venegas, both recognized with the 2025 cultural diversity award granted every year by the Provincial Council of Huesca under the framework of this festival.
Resident put the brooch to Pyrenees Sur 2025
Resident shows are always overwhelming. Few artists are able to offer a show in which reggaeton, cumbia, rock and hip hop are mixed in such a brilliant way. And tonight he has conquered a lanuza audience delivered again. There was space for his eternal hits on 13th Street and also for the best moments of his solo career.
Precisely the start was one of the most dynamic and spectacular of South Pyrenees: with resident throwing rhymes like a submachine gun, linking without pause “dance of the poor”, “there is no one like you”, “dare to you” and “the endurance.” After such a shaking of bodies, he faced more intimate and slow moments, with the exciting “death in Hawaii”, “Latin America” and “René”, one of the most personal and beautiful songs that the Puerto Rican has ever written.
For the final stretch, the accelerator for exhaustion of the public again stepped on. “The future is ours” and “vamo” to behave badly “they closed the XXXII edition of South Pyrenees in style. So much that the entire band, resident included, jumping to the swamp.
And, as if that were not enough, on stage he has been accompanied by a band of first level musicians that includes the Valencian battery Jorge Garrido, known in social networks as “The Siberian Estepario”, one of the most followers musicians, specifically 10 million, and who has been signed by resident for his international tour.
The last appointment of Pyrenees Sur has begun with an artist who has composed great successes for pop stars (such as Shakira or Manuel Turizo), but has now launched with a solo career: Gale. The Puerto Rican demonstrated her worth, waste charisma, with songs that are almost all potential hits and some of her new compositions (“would be cool”). His version of “The Beach” of Van Gogh’s ear and his single with Ana Mena, “La Razón”, enthusiastically sing to all the first rows of the amphitheater.
He completed the squad of the night Laura Sam, which deployed an intense and combative concert, accompanied by her DJ that launched threatening and powerful low bases. Demonstrating why it is one of the most important names of the current Spoken Word, it premiered in Lanuza many of the songs of his new works, the EP “Love and Lead” and his album “La Voz against”. Thus they sounded in Lanuza “Spain”, “Algorithm” or “Love.” His concert was beyond a musical show: it was the cry of a generation that has to face situations that cannot be controlled.
One more year the festival wants to thank all the partners for their support, with special mention to the Diputación de Huesca, to the City of Sallent de Gállego, to Ambar as a beer partner, Embou as a telecommunications partner and a World2meet and Coca-Cola. Without its involvement, it would not have been possible to achieve the objectives in terms of development and growth in this edition of South Pyrenees.
