Mara Torres and Pedro García Aguado will participate in the Tancoñiz journalism and mental health course

Alcañiz It will be converted on September 15 and 16 into a key meeting point for the seventh edition of the National Communication course and Journalism Specialized in Mental health. The meeting, which will be held in different spaces of Alcañiz, will bring together almost forty speakers from the scope of journalism, health and education.

Pedro García Aguado, known for his work at the head of the “Brother Brother” program, will share his experience as an expert in drug dependence, prevention and treatment of addictions. Mara Torres, one of the most recognized journalists in the country, will address her personal experience after the suicide of her younger sister, a fact that tells in her latest novel remember me dancing, turned into a tool for visibility of duel. Molo Cebrián, creator of the Pódcast “Understand your mind”, the most listened to in Spanish language psychology, will contribute his vision as a psychologist and communicator.

Along with them, experts such as Patricia Ramírez, psychologist and author of reference in emotional dissemination, and José Cabrera, psychiatrist and habitual forensic doctor in media such as “Fourth Millennium” will participate. Specialized journalists such as Graziela Almendral, Sofía Pérez Mendoza, Erika Montañés and Juanma Fernández will also attend, in addition to the journalist of RNE María Torres.

The course will pay special attention to the psychological impact facing those who work in contexts of high emotional or media voltage. The journalists Antonio Pampliega and Marc Marginedas will participate, both kidnapped by jihadist organizations, who will share their experience and recovery process after living extreme situations.

According to recent data from The Self-Investigation, 60 % of media professionals have high levels of anxiety, one in five suffers symptoms of depression, and burnout cases and post-traumatic stress are increased. The founder of the Pulitzer Mar Cabra Organization and Prize will also be present on September 15 to analyze this phenomenon from within the sector.

This year’s edition will focus on key issues such as stress on hyperconnected environments, emotional management against the pain of others, mental health in the era of immediacy, or self -care strategies to avoid emotional exhaustion. All this through talks, round tables and networking spaces.

The VII National Course of Communication and Specialized Journalism in Mental Health is conceived as a space for transverse dialogue and training, accessible to all types of audiences. Registration will be available soon, and complete programming will be announced in the next few days.
