
60% of the Aragonese would move if they could and these are their favorite options
72% of the Aragonese want to continue living in Spain and 60% would change the autonomous community if they could, according to the II barometer of the Dwelling “Owner planet” prepared by Mutual Group owners. Internationally, Europe It is consolidated as the favorite option outside the country for the citizens of Aragon, with 17% that would move to the continent.
The report, published on Tuesday, analyzes the degree of satisfaction of citizens with their place of residence and reveals that 35% of the Aragonese remain faithful to their region, which represents a growth of twelve points compared to last year. This data places Aragon above the national average in terms of territorial attachment, where the average of citizens who want to continue residing in Spain is 67%.
However, moving to another autonomous community is a feasible option for 60% of the Aragonese. At this point, Andalusia (20%) is the most desired region, followed by Community Valencian (6%), Galicia (5%) and the Basque Country (5%).
In the Aragonese case, that percentage is 35%, well below Andalusia, but with a significant improvement compared to the previous year. Fidelity to the place of residence also grows significantly in communities such as La Rioja, where it goes from 21% to 35%.
On the contrary, Madrid’s are the ones who show a greater predisposition to change (25%), followed by the Castellanoleones (27%), Spanish-La Mancha (28%) and Extremadura (28%).
The study also emphasizes that destination preferences vary according to the community of origin. For example, 19% of Navarros chooses the Basque Country as an ideal place, as well as 13% of Cantabrians and 10% of Catalans. In Madrid, 12%would opt for Andalusia, while Asturias (9%) and Valencian Community (8%) also appear among the outstanding options. In turn, 10% of the Castilian-Manchego would move to Madrid, and 11% of the Galicians would choose the Canary Islands.
“An election that can be driven for very diverse reasons. In the case of Madrid, the accelerated rhythm of life, the cost of housing and urban congestion lead to part of the population to seek quieter or affordable environments. In regions such as Castilla-La Mancha or Extremadura, on the other hand, the intention could be related to the search for better job opportunities or more appropriate access to basic services,” they explain from Mutual Group.
Finally, the barometer also analyzes the residential expectations in the future. In the case of Aragon, 29% of citizens intend to change housing in the coming years, a fact that reflects the dynamism and new residential aspirations of a significant part of the population.
