
Collapses, sprains, lost and falls mark the beginning of August in the Pyrenees
The units of rescue of the Civil Guard Greim of Huesca They have faced an intense start of the month, with 17 mountain aid interventions on the first weekend of August. The assists, coordinated with aerial and health media, have occurred throughout the Pyrenees and have affected people of all ages and nationalities, including a minor, a 13 -year -old child and even an injured dog.
On Thursday ten bailouts were recorded. First of the hour, a 57 -year -old hiker in Barcelona suffered an ankle sprain near the Bachimaña refuge. At noon, a 62 -year -old cyclist from Zumárga was injured the humerus in the Petrosos Puntal, also in Panticosa.
Serial accidents and a lost group
In the afternoon, a child under 15 years of Saragossa, belonging to a camp, suffered a knee sprain near Gabardito (Canfranc). At the same time, a 61 -year -old climber of the Jacetania was evacuated after fracturing the hip in the Mallo Lecherines (Aísa). In addition, other cases of sprains and fractures were attended to the upper portillion (Benasque), the GR-11 in Montanuy, the immediate vicinity of Biban (Boltaña) and the Llauset refuge, the latter with a mountaineer of Czech nationality.
In Tomb, a 21 -year -old French young man was evacuated with a bleeding wound after a stumbling block next to the Cajigar River. In Villanúa, a 13 -year -old boy from Zaragoza fractured the tibia when jumping to a pool of the local ravine. The day ended with a collective rescue: four people, including two children under 4 years, were disoriented without water in the Paul’s shelter (Aniés – La Sotonera). All of them were located and evacuated by helicopter to the parking lot of Loarre Castle.
An injured dog and a heat stroke
Five more bailouts were recorded on Friday. A 40 -year -old mountaineer from Murcia was immobilized by cramps next to the Aneto glacier. In Candanchú, two French without sufficient technical level were evacuated from the shoe tube.
A singular intervention took place at the Armeña Pico (Seira): a 46 -year -old mountaineer from Zaragoza requested help after the fall of his dog, which was injured in the legs. Both were rescued and the animal received veterinary assistance. That same day, a 31 -year -old hiker suffered a heat stroke with vomiting and diarrhea near the Ibón de Millares (San Juan de Plan), while a 39 -year runner from Guipúzcoa was evacuated with a sprain of ankle from the collado of Aullets (Torla).
Injured and mountaineer cyclist with dislocation
This Sunday, Greim’s troops intervened in two new bailouts. At 11.05, a 40 -year -old cyclist from Somontano fractured the clavicle and shoulder after a fall on the Mazaranuaga track (Panticosa).
Later, at 12.44, a 39 -year -old mountaineer from Zaragoza was evacuated near the Angel Orús shelter (Sahún – Benasque) after dislocating his knee in a descent. The rescue was carried out by partial support from a rock outgoing.
