The Aemet extends the heat wave, at least, until next Tuesday
The State Meteorology Agency (Aemet) announced Wednesday that the heat wave will remain in Spain, at least, until next Tuesday with an ascent of the maximum temperatures when exceeding 38 degrees in much of the peninsular interior.
According to the Aemet forecast, during these days of heat wave a mass of warm and dry air of African origin will persist over much of the Peninsula. This fact, together with the high summer insolation, causes the highest thermal values of the usual ones for this time of year.

Today, light decreases in the maximum temperatures in the Atlantic and Third this peninsular slope are expected, being able to be more accused in points of Catalonia and Rías Baixas. Even so, the 40 degrees in the valleys of the Tagus, the Guadiana and the Guadalquivir are expected to exceed again.
In addition, inside the Cantabrian facade, the Alto Ebro and the north of the Northern Plateau, the change from wind to southern component will allow a moderate to remarkable ascent of the maximum.
On Thursday 7, a generalized ascending trend will begin again in temperatures and little significant changes will be expected on Friday 8. These two days will be exceeded between 36 and 38 degrees in much of the peninsular interior, being able to reach between 40 and 42 degrees in the depressions of the northeast and in the valleys of the Miño, El Tajo, El Guadiana and the Guadalquivir.

Possible storms
Likewise, a favorable environment for the growth of isolated storms is expected during the afternoons in the Betic environment on Thursday, extending to other areas of the peninsular interior on Friday. The most significant phenomenon associated with them will be wind gusts, since they can be locally very strong.
During the weekend, the slightly ascending trend of temperatures can continue in areas of the southern half and this peninsular, moving to the Cantabrian area and northern Galicia on Sunday, where promotions may be significant. In this way, it is expected that they will be exceeded between 40 and 42 degrees in the same areas mentioned, and without ruling them out on Sundays in points of the interior of the Basque Country.
Regarding the minimums, very high values will be maintained in much of the territory, and even with a more marked upward trend in the northern peninsular half. Therefore, in the next few days it will not be lowered from 23-25 degrees in areas of the central and southern peninsular.
